Keen road racer and mechanic, Raymond Hodges and TT Racing is sponsoring the Moto 3/GP 125cc race at this year’s Armoy Road Races.
The countdown to one of Northern Ireland’s most thrilling road racing events is on, as the Armoy Road Races gear up for another action-packed weekend on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July 2025.
Confirmed among this year’s highlights is the return of the Moto 3/GP125cc class, proudly sponsored for the third year running by Raymond Hodges and Lisa Ross of TT Racing.
Well-respected within the motorcycling community, Hodges—both a skilled racer and seasoned mechanic—brings valuable insight from his dual role as competitor and sponsor. Having competed numerous times at Armoy, his passion for the event remains as strong as ever.
Raymond Hodges said:
“With just a few weeks to go until this year’s event, it’s great to be able to support the Moto 3/GP 125cc race again. As a rider and as a sponsor, I’ve had the unique perspective of being involved with both sides of the event and they are equally as exciting.
“The work that Armoy Motorcycling Road Racing Club (AMRRC) volunteers put into the organisation of the races cannot be understated. I’m really looking forward to the event and am counting down the days already!”
Last year’s Moto 3/GP125cc contest proved a crowd-pleaser, with Englishman Dominic Herbertson clinching first place, followed closely by Germany’s Chris Meyer and local favourite Nigel Moore. Racing fans will be delighted to hear that Herbertson is expected to return this year under his Herbertson Road Racing Company (HRRC) banner.
Commenting on the class’s ongoing popularity, AMRRC Chairman Gareth McAuley said:
“The Moto 3/GP 125 race is a fantastic class and the smell of burning two stroke oil for the traditionalists is a treat every year. We are very grateful to Raymond and TT Racing for continuing their sponsorship.
“Rider entries are currently open and we’re already receiving a good steady flow, so I would like to remind riders to get their entries in quickly if they haven’t already to ensure they are able to compete. I’m sure it’ll prove to be another popular race in our busy two-day programme.”
This year’s event, which is supported in part by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, will once again culminate in the prestigious Bayview Hotel Race of Legends, drawing racers and spectators from across the UK, Ireland, and further afield.
For spectators, programme packages are now available to purchase via the official website. Each package includes a vehicle parking pass and a limited-edition event lanyard, which grants access to exclusive vantage points around the circuit—ensuring fans won’t miss a moment of the adrenaline-fuelled action.
