Missing County Antrim man Mark Dinsmore
Friday 30 October 2026
Police have revealed that a missing Bushmills man may have sustained injuries in a road traffic collision shortly before his disappearance, prompting serious concerns for his welfare as the search to find him continues.
Mark Dinsmore, aged 50, was last seen at around 6pm on Saturday 24 October, when he was involved in a collision in the Ballybogey Road area of Ballymoney.
He has not been in contact with family or friends since, and police are now appealing directly to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information that could help locate him.
An updated photograph (above) of Mark has also been released as officers continue their enquiries alongside voluntary search and rescue partners.
Police appeal for witnesses to collision
Causeway Coast and Glens District Chief Inspector Clare Willis confirmed that Mark had been driving a grey Audi A4 and urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or noticed anything relevant in the surrounding area, to come forward.
She said:
“The community will see us on the ground as our enquiries continue, alongside voluntary search and rescue partners. We want to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far, and we now want to appeal directly to anyone who may have been in the Ballymoney area at the time of this collision. Mark was driving a grey Audi A4. Even a seemingly insignificant piece of information could help.”
The latest appeal adds a significant new concern to the search, with police warning that Mark may have been injured in the collision and could require assistance.
Description of missing man
Mark is described as approximately 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair.
When last seen, he was wearing:
• A red coat
• A white T-shirt
• Jeans
• White trainers
Residents urged to check outbuildings
Police are also asking people living in the relevant areas to check sheds, outbuildings, unoccupied properties and derelict buildings that may be accessible.
The request comes as officers and voluntary search and rescue teams continue efforts to establish Mark's whereabouts.
How to contact police
Anyone who has seen Mark, witnessed the collision or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 431 of 25/10/26.
With Mark having had no contact with family or friends since Saturday evening, police hope the renewed appeal, updated photograph and information about the grey Audi A4 will encourage anyone with potentially relevant information to come forward and help bring the search to a conclusion.
