Travelling this weekend? Check every Ulster Rally road closures before you set off

Motorists across North Antrim are being urged to plan ahead this weekend, with extensive road closures in place as the Modern Tyres Ulster Rally returns to the area.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has issued travel advice ahead of the two-day event, warning that road users should expect delays on Friday 7 August and Saturday 8 August as rally stages take place across Mid and East Antrim.

While diversions will be in operation, drivers are advised to allow extra time for journeys, particularly if travelling through the affected areas.

Friday 7 August road closures

Glendun stage

Closure times: 12.30pm – 9.30pm

Temporary reopening:

• 5pm – 5.30pm

Advice for motorists and spectators

Diversions will be in place throughout the event, but the PSNI is advising motorists to plan journeys in advance and allow extra travelling time where possible.

Spectators attending the rally are also reminded to park responsibly and ensure roads remain clear for emergency service vehicles at all times.

The Modern Tyres Ulster Rally takes place across Friday 7 and Saturday 8 August, with Ballymena Showgrounds serving as the event headquarters.
