Traffic and travel update: Twelfth of July parades in Mid & East Antrim

Date: Saturday, 12th July


Areas Affected: Ballymena, Carnlough, Cullybackey, Portglenone, Glenarm to Waterfoot (A2)


Motorists are being advised to expect significant traffic disruption across parts of Mid & East Antrim District this Saturday, 12th July, due to Twelfth of July parades.



This year’s main demonstrations will take place in:


  • Ballymena

  • Carnlough

  • Cullybackey

  • Portglenone


Key Times of Disruption:


  • 12:00pm – 2:30pm

  • 4:00pm – 5:30pm




Additionally, the A2 Coast Road between Glenarm and Waterfoot will be closed from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.


Traffic Management:


  • Diversions will be clearly signposted.


  • Police officers will be on the ground across all main parade routes to assist with traffic flow and public safety.



Plan Ahead:


If you are not attending the parades, please plan an alternative route to avoid delays. Expect heavier than usual traffic on surrounding roads.
