Portrush RNLI Shop

Portrush RNLI is inviting applications for the position of Shop Manager as it looks to strengthen its retail team and continue raising vital funds for its lifesaving work along the North Coast.

The charity, which provides a 24/7 search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, is seeking a motivated individual to manage the day-to-day operations of its Portrush-based shop.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the RNLI’s mission to save lives at sea by leading a team of retail volunteers and ensuring an excellent experience for customers.

As well as raising essential funds, the new Shop Manager will help promote the RNLI’s water safety campaigns and engage with the local community to build awareness of the charity’s life-saving work.

The ideal applicant will be local to the Portrush area and confident in coordinating a team, offering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in-store. Strong communication skills, a personable approach, and enthusiasm for customer service are essential, while previous retail experience is desirable.

RNLI Retail Lead Brendan Breslin highlighted the significance of the role, stating:

“Volunteering in this role will see the successful candidate make a difference in their local community, saving lives while learning new skills and gaining the satisfaction of giving back. They will receive full training and acquire management experience through leading a diverse team.

“This is a busy but rewarding role for the right candidate and I would encourage anyone who thinks they may have the time and the skills, to please put their application in.”

The role includes training and ongoing support, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact charitable mission while gaining leadership and retail experience.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, 31 August, via the RNLI volunteering portal: Apply here
