Emergency services were alerted shortly before 7:00am, with officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS), and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) attending the scene.

Firefighters from Ballymoney, Coleraine and Northland stations responded quickly, using breathing apparatus and jets to extinguish the fire in a mid-terrace flat. One man was rescued from the property and transferred to hospital by NIAS.

In an updated statement, police confirmed:

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service had dispatched two Emergency Ambulance Crews, two Ambulance Officers, a Rapid Response Paramedic and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) support.
