Fans of legendary road racer Joey Dunlop will have the opportunity to pay tribute to the late motorcycling icon from anywhere in the world, as the highly anticipated Joey 25 celebration is set to be live streamed globally on Greenlight Television’s King of the Roads platform.

The landmark event, marking 25 years since Joey Dunlop’s untimely passing, will take place on Saturday, 24 May 2025, in his hometown of Ballymoney, Northern Ireland. For those unable to attend in person, the free live broadcast offers an unprecedented opportunity to experience the event in real time.

“We are honoured that the Joey 25 celebration can now be seen by a global audience,” said Joey’s wife, Linda Dunlop.

“Joey was a local hero and an international icon, and this live stream ensures that fans everywhere can join us in celebrating his extraordinary legacy.”

The live stream will commence at 6pm BST and will include exclusive interviews with legendary riders and members of the Dunlop family, behind-the-scenes footage, and coverage of the day’s full programme — from autograph signings and “meet the riders” sessions to live music and family-friendly entertainment.

The highlight of the day will be a spectacular closed-road parade through Ballymoney’s town centre, featuring over 25 motorcycling stars.

Among them are World Superbike Champions Carl Fogarty and Jonathan Rea, Grand Prix legends Ron Haslam, Jeremy McWilliams and Eugene Laverty, and British Superbike stars Glenn Irwin and Leon Haslam. They will be joined by other celebrated figures in road racing, including Ryan Farquhar, Michael Rutter, and Phillip McCallen.

The streets of Ballymoney are also set to host the largest-ever display of Joey Dunlop’s race bikes, providing a rare glimpse into the machines that defined his incredible career.

“This event is a heartfelt, deeply personal tribute to Joey, and we’re delighted that we will share this special day with his fans worldwide,” said Linda Dunlop.

“Seeing Joey’s bikes roar through Ballymoney and knowing people across the globe can watch feels truly special.”

In conjunction with the live-streamed celebration, the Joey 25 Exhibition at Ballymoney Museum will run daily until 30 August 2025, from 9am to 5pm.

The exhibition features rare memorabilia, including Joey’s original 1981 Isle of Man TT racing leathers and personal items from the Dunlop family archives, offering visitors a unique and intimate look into his life on and off the track.
