Golf icon Sir Nick Faldo and his wife, Lady Faldo, recently visited Portrush for a three-day film shoot in collaboration with Hidden Links, an American golf tour operator based in Florida, over the May Bank Holiday.

The Faldo’s were guests at the esteemed Blackrock House Bed and Breakfast, a five-star, award-winning accommodation known for its exceptional service and focus on private golf groups.

Sir Nick Faldo commented:

“Royal Portrush is one of the great links courses in the world, it’s very tough, but fantastic. I am excited to see the return of The OPEN back in Royal Portrush in July 2025 and can't wait to be back.

“We've had a special time at Blackrock House with Nicola enjoying exceptional food, gin, and genuine Irish hospitality in a superb location. It’s what every golfer wants! I'll even be taking some of her Irish Whiskey Fruit Cake back home which is a must have!”

Marc Bender, Managing Partner at Hidden Links, remarked:

"My Co-Managing Partner Adam Wachter and I stayed at Blackrock House B&B before The OPEN in 2019. Now, we're back with Sir Nick filming a TV commercial on the lead up to the 153rd OPEN at Royal Portrush to highlight our world class golf packages.

“We knew we wanted to return to Blackrock House, confident that Sir Nick and Lindz would find Nicola's personal service utterly charming and love the delicious breakfasts!”

Both Bender and Wachter noted that Northern Ireland Golf Packages have quickly risen to the top of most-demanded golf vacation packages in Ireland and the entire British Isles; boosted by rise of Northern Ireland’s great major golf champions— Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, and Graeme McDowell.

The real reason so many people want to take a Northern Ireland golf tour vacation is because Northern Ireland’s links golf courses are simply beyond belief - amazing!

Ms. Nicola Neill, owner of Blackrock House, expressed her delight at hosting the legendary golfer.

“It’s been a real pleasure to welcome Sir Nick, Lady Faldo, and the Hidden Links team. We're thrilled Sir Nick experienced the stunning scenery and golf courses around the Causeway Coast.

“It’s fantastic that their TV commercial will highlight Portrush across the US golf markets leading up to The OPEN and beyond. We’ve already seen the rise in golf tourism with many repeat guests from the States coming back multiple times a year and even joining local golf courses.”
