Fibrus launches ‘Christmas Classroom’ competition for NI schools | Santa visit prize announced

A Northern Ireland school will receive an extra-special festive surprise this December as local Full Fibre broadband provider Fibrus launches its new ‘Christmas Classroom’ competition.

The initiative invites schools across Northern Ireland to nominate their Primary One, Primary Two, or P1/P2 composite classes for the chance to win a magical Christmas visit from Santa and the Fibrus Tinsel Team.

The winning classroom will be treated to a sack filled with some of the most sought-after gifts, along with a personalised video message from Santa Claus himself before he “fires up the sleigh and takes flight from the North Pole.”

Fibrus said the competition reflects its commitment to strengthening community connections—particularly during the festive season.

As the company continues rolling out Full Fibre broadband across rural and regional parts of Northern Ireland, it aims to support families by improving connectivity and helping to bridge the digital divide.

Dominic Kearns, CEO of Fibrus, highlighted the important role schools play within local communities.

“Schools are at the heart of local communities in Northern Ireland, and they continuously go above and beyond for our children.

“We see the hard work that goes in all year, but especially over the Christmas period, where so many schools pull out all the stops for our little ones,” he said.

He added:

“Community is so important to us at Fibrus, it’s central to our ethos and so we are delighted to be able to give back and make this an extra special Christmas for some children by bringing a little bit of magic into their classroom. We would encourage any schools applicable to apply now to be in with a chance to win and celebrate their pupils.”

Applications open at 9am on 19 November and will close at 12 noon on 26 November 2025. Schools must nominate one eligible class and explain why their pupils deserve the prize and what the visit would mean for them.

Entries should be submitted via the official competition page at www.fibrus.com/christmasclassroom.

One classroom will be chosen as the winner, and the selected school will have 48 hours to respond and claim the prize.
