Education Authority advises parents of ‘potential disruption’ in schools

Northern Ireland's Education Authority (EA) has issued a statement this evening, Sunday 15 October, advising parents across the province that it anticipates "some potential disruption" in schools this incoming week.


It comes as non-teaching staff, members of the Unison union, commence action short of strike beginning on Monday, 16 October.



In a short statement a spokesperson for EA said:


"We anticipate some potential disruption to the operation and running of the normal school day due to action short of strike by Unison (non-teaching) Union which starts on Monday 16 October 2023.


"Schools will communicate any changes of arrangements directly with parents and carers via their usual channels.



"We want our children and young people to go about their school day next week as normal and our efforts are focused on minimising any disruption to services as far as possible.


"We encourage parents and carers to check the EA website for regular updates including details of any planned disruption:
