Early risers across Ballymena are being invited to start their day with purpose later this month as Turning Point NI hosts a community 5km Sunrise Walk in support of its vital mental health services.

The walk will take place on Saturday 25th April, with participants gathering for a 5am start at ECOS Nature Park.

Organisers are encouraging people from across the community to come along and take part in what promises to be a meaningful and uplifting start to the day, bringing people together in support of mental health and wellbeing.

A walk with purpose

The event has been designed as an opportunity for people to connect, reflect, and support an important local cause while watching the sunrise over Ballymena.

Turning Point NI said the walk is open to anyone who wishes to take part — whether walking for their own wellbeing, in support of a loved one, or simply to stand alongside others in the community.

In its invitation, the organisation is encouraging the community to “start your day with something meaningful”.

Participants are being encouraged to join the walk to help raise awareness and support for the charity’s ongoing work in delivering essential mental health services.

No booking required

There is no pre-registration needed, allowing people to simply arrive on the morning and take part.

Organisers have also confirmed that refreshments will be provided after the walk, giving attendees the chance to gather afterwards and continue the sense of community the event aims to foster.

Donations will be welcomed on the day, with all contributions going towards supporting Turning Point NI’s services.

Supporting mental health in the community

The sunrise walk comes as community-based mental health support continues to play a crucial role for many individuals and families across the area.

By bringing people together in an open and accessible setting, the event offers not only a fundraising opportunity but also a visible show of support for mental health awareness and local services.

Those planning to attend are being asked to make their way to ECOS Nature Park ahead of the 5am start on Saturday 25th April.

As dawn breaks over Ballymena, the walk is set to offer a quiet but powerful moment of togetherness — one step at a time in support of better mental health.
