Child in critical condition after lorry collision in Limavady

A young girl is in hospital in a critical condition following a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a child pedestrian in the Boleran Road area of Limavady. The incident occurred shortly before 4 pm today.
Emergency services, including officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), attended the scene together.
It is also understood Northern Ireland Air Ambulance was tasked to the scene.
The PSNI confirmed that “the girl remains in hospital at this time being treated for injuries which are described as critical.”
As a result of the collision, Boleran Road has been closed and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route. At present no reopening time has been given.
The PSNI are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who captured dash-cam or mobile footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it, to come forward. Investigating officers are also inviting anyone who may have seen the lorry before or after the collision to contact them.
