Baker McKenzie received many worthy student nominations from schools across the province, making selecting the winners extremely challenging.

James Richards, Baker McKenzie Belfast's Executive Director explains:

"We have a strong commitment to our local community and to doing what we can to attract, recruit, develop and engage individuals from a broad range of different socio-economic backgrounds.

"The Baker McKenzie Belfast 'Student of the Year' award is a way for us to offer selected students targeted support to assist them as they embark on further study or their career journey."

Launched in 2022 the initiative aims to celebrate young people from across Northern Ireland who have demonstrated real achievement. It is also an example of Baker McKenzie's longstanding commitment to social mobility and increasing access to the legal and business services professions.

Maddie along with the other finalists were awarded a range of support, including new laptops, gift vouchers and will benefit from support and mentorship by the company going forward.
