£50,000 drugs haul and weapons seized in Ballymoney and Armoy searches with help of PD Isco

Drugs valued by police at around £50,000 have been seized alongside weapons and approximately £5,000 in cash during searches in Ballymoney and Armoy.
Two people were arrested following the operation on Monday 7 September. One was subsequently charged with drug-related offences and a firearms offence and remanded in custody after appearing in court on Tuesday.
Knuckledusters, knives and taser batons were among the weapons recovered, along with Class A, B and C controlled drugs, according to the PSNI.
“Knock, knock, knock…”
That was how police opened their account of the operation, carried out by Ballymoney and Moyle Neighbourhood Policing Team alongside the Black Tactical Support Group.
Officers were also joined by Police Dog Isco, who featured in a photograph beside some of the seized items.
“We weren’t alone as we also had Police Dog Isco with us who you can see is a very proud boy!” the team said.
Police stressed that the photograph showed only part of what had been recovered: “The picture below is only a snippet of the items seized during the searches and as you can see Isco is making sure it’s kept safe!”
Two arrests and one remanded
The PSNI said the weapons found during the searches could cause serious harm or death.
In its update on Tuesday 8 September, police said one of the two people arrested had been charged overnight with multiple drug-related offences and a firearms offence.
That person appeared in court on Tuesday morning and was remanded in custody. The statement did not provide an update on the second person arrested or give a further hearing date.
“Where we get information we will act”
The police neighbourhood team ended its account with a warning:
“We may be a small neighbourhood team which cover a vast area…but we won’t tolerate drugs or any offending. Where we get information we will act. And don’t forget, you’ll always be caught in the long grass!”
