Ballymena Baby Bank, formerly known as Baby Basics, proudly celebrated its fifth anniversary last week, marking half a decade of providing essential support to families across the town.
The milestone event, held in Ballymena, brought together volunteers, community referrers, and supporters to reflect on the organisation’s impact and unveil its new name and logo.
The charity, which works through local churches and community networks to supply Moses baskets and essential items to parents in need, hosted a special lunch to commemorate the occasion.

The event provided an opportunity to showcase the organisation’s rebranding to Ballymena Baby Bank, a name that reflects its deep-rooted connection to the local area and its ongoing mission to support vulnerable families.
A spokesperson for Ballymena Baby Bank shared their enthusiasm for the milestone, stating:
“Last week we celebrated 5 years of Baby Basics in Ballymena by inviting referrers along for lunch. It was great to see so many from different areas. We were able to show off our new name and logo Ballymena Baby Bank and look forward to continuing to support families in the local area.
“We were also glad to have Katy and Catherine from NIE Networks who chose us as one of their charities to support this year.”

The presence of representatives from NIE Networks, Katy and Catherine, highlighted the charity’s growing network of corporate partnerships. NIE Networks selected Ballymena Baby Bank as one of its supported charities this year, a decision that underscores the organisation’s vital role in the community.
This collaboration is expected to bolster the charity’s efforts to provide essential resources, such as clothing, toiletries, and bedding, to families facing financial hardship.
Since its inception in 2020, Ballymena Baby Bank has been a lifeline for parents, offering practical support during challenging times. By distributing Moses baskets filled with baby essentials, the charity ensures that newborns and their families have the resources they need to thrive.

The organisation’s work is driven by a dedicated team of volunteers who collaborate with local churches and community groups to identify and assist those in need.
The rebranding to Ballymena Baby Bank signals a new chapter for the organisation, with a renewed focus on expanding its reach and deepening its impact in the community. The updated logo and name aim to strengthen the charity’s identity while maintaining its commitment to compassion and support.
The anniversary celebration was not only a moment to reflect on past achievements but also an opportunity to look forward. With the support of local partners and corporate allies like NIE Networks, Ballymena Baby Bank is well-positioned to continue its mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of families across Ballymena.
