Woman sadly dies following two vehicle road traffic collision

Police have confirmed that a woman aged in her 80s has sadly died following a two-vehicle collision outside Omagh on Saturday afternoon, 24th May. 


Bernadette (Bernie) Cranley who was from Lifford in Co Donegal, was aged 82.


She was the driver of a silver Toyota Vitz which was in collision with a blue Suzuki Vitara on the Mellon Road between Omagh and Newtownstewart near the folk park at around 12.30pm. 



The other driver, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to serious injuries. 


Inspector Cherith Adair, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said:


“Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision, and we would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist us.”
