Ann Marshall who sadly died in a road traffic collision in Cookstown.
A woman has died following a road traffic collision in the Cookstown area on Wednesday 11 February, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed. The fatal crash occurred on the Moneymore Road and involved a single vehicle.
The deceased has been named as Ann Marshall from the Moneymore area.
Emergency services attend Moneymore Road crash
Detective Inspector Stewart from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said officers received a report of the incident shortly after 7.30am.
He said:
“We received a report at approximately 7.30am of a one vehicle collision involving a red Seat Ateca on the Moneymore Road.
“Officers attended the scene together with colleagues from our partner agencies. Tragically, Ann was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The Moneymore Road, which was closed for a period of time as officers conducted enquiries, has now re-opened.”
The closure of the busy route caused disruption in the area while investigations were carried out.
PSNI appeal for witnesses
Police have confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances of the Cookstown road traffic collision are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Stewart added:
“Our enquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or has any mobile phone or dash cam footage which could assist us, to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 196 of 11/02/26.”
The PSNI has urged anyone with information to come forward as officers continue their investigation into the fatal collision.
