Headed up by the Mayor, Cllr Peter Johnston, the videos see one of NI’s top vloggers, Stephen Reid, get an exclusive tour

Viewers from Mid and East Antrim and beyond are getting a sneak peek into what really goes on behind closed doors at Council in a new online mini-series. Headed up by the Mayor, Cllr Peter Johnston, the videos see one of NI’s top vloggers, Stephen Reid, get an exclusive, all access tour across the Mayor’s Parlour’s throughout the Borough.

Brimming with rich historical artefacts, Stephen weaves his way through Mid and East Antrim’s tales of folklore and fighting, to joy and tragedy in a bite size look at what has helped forge the borough into what it is today.

Mayor Peter Johnston says there’s something for everyone:

“It’s been really fun to open the doors to one of the borough’s best talents in filmmaking and along with that talent, fresh eyes and ears to tell the amazing stories we have right here on our doorstep. He also gave me a bit of a grilling too which kept me on my toes.

“The three parlours in Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne are bursting with memories of time gone by, historically significant artefacts and even ghost stories which we explore in a fun and chatty way.

“One of my main goals as Mayor was to open the doors and offer a glimpse into not only what we do here at Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, but also what makes us who we are. These stories are of the people and created by them so I really wanted to share that to a younger audience and with Stephen’s creativity I really believe we’ve created something special.” The series covers what’s on display in the three parlours, what goes on there and a bit all about the man behind the chain too, so there is something for all ages to learn whatever your interest. Even Cheetos…
