Two taken to hospital and one arrested after two-vehicle collision in Carnlough

Police and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision in the Harbour Road area of Carnlough on Thursday evening, 3rd July, which resulted in two people being taken to hospital and one man being arrested.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that they received a report of a two-vehicle collision in the coastal village shortly after 5:30pm on Thursday.
“A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including dangerous driving,” a police spokesperson said. “He remains in police custody at this time.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) also responded promptly to the incident.

A spokesperson for NIAS stated:
“The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 17:28 on Thursday 3rd July, following reports of a road traffic collision in the Harbour Road area, Carnlough. NIAS despatched three Emergency Ambulance Crews to the incident.”
Two individuals were treated at the scene before being transported to Causeway Hospital for further care.
“Two people were taken to Causeway Hospital by Ambulance,” the spokesperson confirmed.
