Twin Village Football Club has received a welcome boost after local retailer McCosh’s SPAR Kells stepped forward to sponsor the team’s new football kit.
The sponsorship strengthens the connection between the village football club and a business whose owners and customers are part of the same local community.
Owned and operated by Michael and Elaine McCosh, the Kells store is supporting a team that includes some of its own regular shoppers.
Backing local football
Michael McCosh welcomed the opportunity to support the club and wished the players well as they take to the pitch in their new kit.
He said:
“We’re delighted to be supporting not only a local team, but a team made up of our loyal shoppers, and we wish them every success.”

A spokesperson for Twin Village Football Club expressed appreciation to the local business for its sponsorship, while also recognising those who helped arrange the new away kit.
The spokesperson said:
“A massive thank you to Elaine and everyone at McCosh’s Kells for sponsoring our new away kit.
“We really appreciate the support and are looking forward to working with you on your charity work throughout the year.
“Thanks as well to Karl O’Connor and Playr-Fit Teamwear for helping get the kit sorted.”
The partnership will also see Twin Village Football Club give something back, with players getting involved in upcoming fundraising activities organised by the store.
Joining forces for Marie Curie
The club will support McCosh’s SPAR Kells in its fundraising efforts for Marie Curie, SPAR NI’s charity partner.
Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with terminal illnesses and their families, making the planned fundraising an opportunity for the football club and local retailer to support a cause beyond the pitch.
The new sponsorship brings together grassroots football, a community business and charitable fundraising, with Twin Village FC and McCosh’s SPAR Kells working together to make a positive contribution to village life.
