STAFF PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
• Fiction Book of the Month - The award-winning author of If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things delivers a profoundly humane and engrossing exploration of an Antarctic researcher brought low by tragedy and desperate to communicate with the outside world
• Non-fiction Book of the Month - The iconic octogenarian artist holds forth about life, art and the upside of lockdown in his rustic Normandy farmhouse in a series of candid, insightful conversations with his long-time friend and collaborator, the art critic Martin Gayford.
• Thriller of the Month - A reliable blackmail formula mixes with the unpredictability of life in this brilliantly thought-provoking satirical thriller that shrewdly and riotously dissects the huge inequalities of Indian society.
• Children’s Book of the Month - Both absorbing animal adventure and subtle commentary on climate change and the plight of endangered species, The Last Bear revolves around April, the daughter of an Arctic researcher, and her chance encounter with a lone polar bear.
• Irish Book of the Month - Perfect reading for fans of Sally Rooney, Nealon’s spiky yet compassionate debut charts the progress of a rural Irish girl enrolling at Trinity College, Dublin and deftly examines how our childhood experiences are ingrained upon our character.

KIDS SATURDAY STORYTIME
Next week's choice is for Saturday Storytime is Gretel The Wonder Mammoth!
A mammoth new picture book from the award-winning Kim Hillyard!
One peaceful Tuesday morning, a loud CRACK could be heard as the last mammoth on earth broke free from her icy shell - here comes Gretel the Wonder Mammoth! Everyone is so excited to meet her but as she settles into her new life, Gretel starts to feel a little overwhelmed and even a bit lonely...
This positive, encouraging picture book teaches young readers that perhaps the bravest act a person (or mammoth!) can do is ask for help.
Gretel the Wonder Mammoth is a perfect bedtime read for fans of Rob Biddulph, Rachel Bright and Jim Field.
