Traders set for Sound Bites Festival
The Junction Retail and Leisure Park in Antrim will come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of summer this Saturday as it hosts its brand-new event, the Sound Bites Food & Music Festival, a free celebration of local talent, cuisine and creativity.
Following the success of its popular Barket Market, The Junction is set to expand its growing community events programme with Sound Bites, a free family-friendly festival taking place on Saturday 26th July from 11am to 5pm.
Aimed at showcasing the very best of Northern Ireland’s vibrant local scene, the festival promises live music, artisan stalls, sizzling street food, sweet treats and creative crafts, all set within the spacious grounds of The Junction Retail and Leisure Park.
“This exciting new addition to The Junction’s event line-up promises a fantastic day out for families, music lovers, and anyone who enjoys discovering the best of Northern Ireland’s local talent and produce.”
A feast for the senses
The Sound Bites stage will host an eclectic mix of live performances from popular local artists, including:
Tyler Michael
Ginger Fingers
Belfast Guitar Orchestra
Belfast Groove Collective
Jukebox Unplugged
Meanwhile, more than 40 local food vendors and artisan makers will be offering everything from street food and drinks to unique handmade gifts. Featured traders include:
Pappas Mineral Company
Granny Shaw’s Fudge Factory
Pie in the Sky
Hungry Hungarian
Flaming Jos
Whether you’re after a flavourful bite to eat or a one-of-a-kind gift, there’s something for every taste.
Cookery demos and a cake off with a star judge
TV chef and one of Northern Ireland’s most recognisable culinary figures, Paula McIntyre, will be appearing throughout the day with free live cookery demonstrations celebrating local produce and seasonal flavours.
Budding bakers will also get the chance to shine in a Cake Off competition, where entrants are invited to exhibit their Showstopper Cakes. Festivalgoers will cast their votes in a public poll, and the winner will walk away with a Kitchenaid mixer – the ultimate prize for any home baker.
