Reconnect with volunteering for Women’s Aid ABCLN and join an enthusiastic team who are making a difference for women and children in the local community.

Women’s Aid ABCLN’s Reconnect project offers a 12-week personal development programme for women to increase confidence and self-esteem, reduce isolation and focus on their well-being.

Reconnect Development Worker, Bronagh O’Boyle says:

“Volunteer with Women’s Aid ABCLN and share your passion, skills and experience to help others. Reconnect Groups provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where women can meet with other women, share experiences in a safe and supportive environment and take part in group work.

"Groups meet one morning per week in our centres across Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey from 10am to 1pm.”

Bronagh continued: “Welcome Volunteers play a vital role providing a nurturing and supportive environment for women taking part in groups. Simply by being there, setting up the room and meeting women as they arrive, volunteers build rapport and provide a listening ear for women accessing support.

“For those who like to be hands on, Reconnect Volunteers help to plan and facilitate group sessions. We also have opportunities for weekly guest speakers who can volunteer their time to deliver personal development and group activities for women.”

Concluding, Bronagh shared: “Volunteering for Women’s Aid ABCLN is very rewarding. We provide training and development for all volunteers including accredited domestic abuse awareness training. We offer work placements and volunteer opportunities in Women’s Aid ABCLN’s refuge, court support, groups and courses for women, children’s services, and communications & marketing team to help raise vital funds.”
