Police appeal after three injured in two-vehicle collision in Ballymena

Police are appealing for information following a two-vehicle collision in Ballymena on Wednesday, 11 February, which resulted in three people being taken to hospital.


The crash occurred at approximately 7pm at the junction of Larne Road Link and St Patrick’s Link Road, involving a black BMW X3 and a red Vauxhall Grandland. Emergency services attended the scene.

Sergeant McDowell confirmed that officers responded to reports of the collision alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.


He said:


“We received reports at around 7pm of a collision involving a black BMW X3 and a red Vauxhall Grandland at the junction of Larne Road Link and St Patrick’s Link Road.



“Officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.


“Three people were subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.”


The condition of those injured has not been disclosed.


PSNI appeal for information and dash-cam footage


Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) enquiries into the Ballymena collision are ongoing, and officers are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.



Sergeant McDowell added:


“Our enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who has any information, particularly any dash-cam or other footage, to contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 1425 of 11/02/26.

The junction of Larne Road Link and St Patrick’s Link Road is a well-used route in Ballymena, and police are particularly keen to hear from motorists who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the collision.
