The A29 Dungannon Road in Cookstown will be closed for several hours on Sunday, 6 July, as officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) conduct scene testing in relation to a fatal road traffic collision earlier this year.

The closure will be in effect from 10am until 1pm, and will stretch from the Dungannon Road roundabout to Annagh Road.

The temporary closure is to facilitate a forensic investigation by the Collision Investigation Unit, following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday, 20 February.

A woman in her 40s tragically lost her life in the February crash, which involved a Ford Ka and a Nissan Note.

During the road closure, diversions will be in place at the Sandholes Road and Tullywiggan Road junctions to redirect motorists away from the affected section of the A29.

The PSNI confirmed that local access will be maintained for residents and those living within the immediate area.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time to avoid disruption during the investigation period.
