The Northern Health and Social Care Trust is now looking for new Community Health and Wellbeing Champions to join its volunteer community.

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust has launched a new volunteer drive, appealing to members of the public with a passion for improving health outcomes in their local communities.

The Trust is now seeking Community Health and Wellbeing Champions who will work alongside staff to help share information, services and resources aimed at boosting community-wide awareness and encouraging healthier lifestyles.

Lynsey McVitty, Health and Wellbeing Team Locality Lead at the Northern Trust, said:

“This is a great opportunity to share a passion for health and wellbeing and encourage others to take steps to choose healthier lifestyles.

“We would love to hear from you if you have an interest in supporting others to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing, and a willingness to lead by example.”

Roles Across Northern Trust Areas

The volunteer positions are home-based, with the potential to take part in local community events or activities in the Trust’s Ballymena offices.

Volunteers are currently required in Antrim, Ballymena, Causeway, Mid Ulster and East Antrim, including Larne, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey.

The Trust hopes that volunteers will live locally and be able to use their knowledge of the area to support outreach efforts.

Social Media Skills Required

As part of the role, volunteers will help create and post content on approved social media platforms under the direction of the Health and Wellbeing Team. They will also support the sharing of information from verified partner organisations.

Applicants should be confident Facebook users, possess a good level of computer literacy, and have access to a digital device with a reliable internet connection.
