The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain across parts of Northern Ireland on Saturday, 27 September 2025.
The warning is in place from 07:00 until 19:00 and will affect County Antrim, County Armagh and County Down.
According to the forecast, “heavy rain leading to a chance of some flooding and travel disruption on Saturday” is expected, with conditions likely to worsen through the day.
Outbreaks of rain will move eastwards during the morning, becoming persistent and heavy across eastern counties in the afternoon before gradually clearing eastwards by the early evening.
The Met Office has warned that 20 to 30mm of rain is likely widely, with up to 40 to 50mm possible on higher ground, increasing the risk of flooding in certain areas.
Officials are advising the public to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys, particularly in areas prone to surface water flooding or where heavy rainfall could impact travel routes.
The Met Office caution comes as autumnal weather patterns continue to bring unsettled conditions across the UK.
