The fatal crash occurred on Saturday, 22nd November, shortly after 6.25pm on the Lurgan Road. Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a collision involving a grey Skoda Fabia and a grey Cupra Formentor.

Chief Inspector Simpson of the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Shortly after 6.25pm, we received a report of a collision involving a grey Skoda Fabia and a grey Cupra Formentor on the Lurgan Road.

“Our officers attended alongside emergency service partners, however the two occupants of the Cupra were pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The driver of the Skoda was transferred to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

“The Lurgan Road remains closed this morning with a diversion in place at Pigeonstown Road.

“Our enquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1121 22/11/25.”

The identities of the man and woman who died have not yet been released. Police say the road will remain closed for several hours as specialist officers continue their investigations.

Diversions are currently being implemented at Pigeonstown Road, and motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible as delays are expected.

The PSNI is urging anyone with information, dash-cam footage or who witnessed the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
