A husband-and-wife team who transformed a Ballymena warehouse into one of Northern Ireland’s most popular family attractions are about to do it again.
This August, Chris and Joanna Robinson, the founders of the hugely successful Honeybees Playtown, will open the doors to LEVEL UP Entertainment Centre — a brand new attraction designed to bring children, teenagers and adults together for a completely different kind of family day out.
Opening next door to Honeybees in Pennybridge, LEVEL UP represents the Robinsons’ biggest investment since launching their indoor play centre and is set to add another major attraction to Ballymena’s growing family entertainment offering.
Built on the success of Honeybees

Thousands of families from across Northern Ireland have visited Honeybees Playtown since it opened, making it one of the area’s best-known destinations for young children.
Now Chris and Joanna are hoping to build on that success by creating an experience aimed at a much wider audience — somewhere parents can compete with their children, teenagers can challenge their friends, couples can enjoy a date night and families can spend quality time together.
Rather than another soft play centre, LEVEL UP has been designed as an energetic, modern entertainment venue packed with the latest arcade games, interactive experiences and plenty of opportunities for friendly competition.
It’s a concept the couple believe will appeal not only to local families but also to visitors travelling from further afield looking for something new.
A fresh experience for Ballymena
The first phase of LEVEL UP will feature a vibrant, state-of-the-art amusement arcade filled with the latest racing simulators, skill games and prize-winning attractions, creating an experience that’s every bit as colourful as it is competitive.

Alongside the games, visitors can also enjoy an American-inspired shake bar serving handcrafted milkshakes, dirty sodas, indulgent sundaes and a tempting selection of sweet treats, making it just as easy to relax between games as it is to keep the competition going.
Whether you’re chasing the highest score, celebrating a birthday, planning a family outing or simply looking for something different to do together, the new venue has been designed to offer entertainment for every generation.
Even bigger plans ahead
LEVEL UP is only the beginning.
The Robinsons are already planning the attraction’s next phase, which will see the introduction of a fully themed indoor mini golf course featuring immersive scenery, imaginative obstacles and interactive elements designed to make every round a memorable experience.
The expansion will further cement the venue as a destination where visitors can spend hours enjoying a variety of activities under one roof.
It’s another significant investment in Ballymena and one that reflects the couple’s confidence in the town and its future as a place where families choose to spend their leisure time.
Creating memories that last

Chris and Joanna told Love Ballymena:
“We are passionate about creating somewhere that people can have fun and make lasting memories.
“Honeybees has been incredibly well supported by both the local community and further afield, and we’re so grateful for that.
“Level Up is the next chapter, and we have put our all into creating an exciting experience that people of all ages can enjoy.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”
Opening August
Families can expect to see the centre open around Mid-August. The official opening date will be announced soon, with regular behind-the-scenes updates, sneak peeks and launch information being shared across Level Up Entertainment Centre’s social media channels.

For the Robinson family, Level Up marks the next chapter in a journey that began with Honeybees Playtown.
For Ballymena, it’s another exciting investment in family entertainment. And for families across Mid and East Antrim — and beyond — it’s a brand new destination that looks set to become one of the town’s must-visit attractions.
Keep an eye on Level Up Entertainment Centre’s social media pages for the official opening date, exclusive previews and launch announcements ahead of opening later this month.
