LEGO spectacular makes history as Coleraine hosts first-ever National Brick Events weekend

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins opened this weekend’s National Brick Events spectacular in Coleraine, promising LEGO fun for all ages.
Friday 16 October 2026
Coleraine is preparing for a weekend of extraordinary creations, colourful displays and family fun as one of the UK’s major LEGO-themed event organisers brings its spectacular brick-building experience to Northern Ireland for the very first time.
National Brick Events will take over three venues in the town on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, with organisers expecting between 2,500 and 3,000 visitors each day.
The event marks two firsts for the organisation: its debut anywhere on the island of Ireland and the first time it has staged a two-day event across three separate venues.
With Saturday tickets no longer available, families hoping to experience the event can still secure admission for Sunday.
Three venues transformed for LEGO fans
Coleraine Leisure Centre, Coleraine Town Hall and the Event Space Marquee will host a packed weekend of brick-built creations, displays, exhibitors and activities aimed at LEGO enthusiasts, collectors and families of all ages.
The scale of the event represents a significant undertaking for National Brick Events, whose owners, Nick Beevis and Neil Campbell, have been welcomed to Coleraine by the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins.
The Mayor met the organisers and their team alongside Coleraine Leisure Centre Manager Rory Gallagher and Coleraine Connect BID Manager Anneliese Sid ahead of the weekend celebrations.
Mayor welcomes landmark event
Speaking ahead of the event, Councillor Huggins said:
“I am absolutely stunned by the scale of this event. It is going to be an amazing weekend, and I am delighted to welcome Neil and Nick and their team to Coleraine.
“Thanks must go to the Coleraine Connect team for bringing this amazing event to our town and to Northern Ireland for the very first time.
“If you haven't got your ticket yet, don't miss out!"
The event is also expected to provide a welcome boost for Coleraine town centre, with visitors travelling to enjoy the displays and explore local shops, cafés and businesses.
Free fairytale trail offers chance to win LEGOLAND holiday
The excitement extends beyond the ticketed event, with Coleraine's month-long programme of LEGO-themed activities giving families another reason to explore the town.
A FREE Bricks Fairytale Trail features 13 brick-built fairytale models displayed in shop windows throughout Coleraine town centre.
Families can follow the trail, discover the models and, by completing the activity, enter a competition to win a trip for four to LEGOLAND Windsor.
The prize, provided courtesy of JF Travel, includes flights, two nights at the LEGOLAND Hotel and theme park passes.
The free trail offers an additional attraction for families visiting Coleraine, including those who have been unable to secure tickets for the main event.
Mayor takes on charity cycling challenge
Saturday's celebrations will also feature a fundraising challenge outside Coleraine Town Hall, where Mayor Huggins will undertake a sponsored cycle in support of her chosen charity, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke.
The challenge will take place alongside the National Brick Events activities, giving visitors an opportunity to support the charity while enjoying the weekend festivities.
