Larne Leisure Centre gym
The phased reopening of Larne Leisure Centre has reached another important milestone, with the gym officially reopening to the public on Monday 6 October.
The return of the gym follows steady progress on a wider programme of refurbishment and repair works across the popular facility.
With the swimming pools, sports halls, fitness classes and Prom Café already back in use, more residents are once again able to enjoy the wide range of activities offered at the centre as it moves closer to a full return.
While the reopening is warmly welcomed by members and visitors alike, temporary arrangements remain in place as ongoing works continue within parts of the building — including the main reception area and the McNeill Theatre.
To help visitors navigate the site, clear signage has been installed and staff will be available to assist customers on arrival.
Boost for Local Health and Wellbeing
The reopening of the gym marks a further boost for community health and wellbeing in the area, offering a convenient and inclusive space for people of all ages and abilities to stay active.
Customers can continue to book sessions and classes through the MEActive App, and are encouraged to check the Council’s website and social media channels for the latest updates before travelling.
Car parking and accessible routes will remain available throughout the ongoing works, although visitors are advised to allow some extra time for their journey.

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Jackson Minford, said he was delighted to see another section of the leisure centre reopen to the public.
“I am pleased to see the refurbishment of Larne Leisure Centre coming along so well. The reopening of the gym is another positive step that will make a real difference to local people who rely on the centre for exercise, social connection and fun.
