“Identification process” still ongoing – Police

Detectives investigating the murder of Chloe Mitchell have provided an update today, Tuesday 20 June.


The young 21-year-old Ballymena woman was last seen in the town on CCTV in the early hours of Saturday 3 June. An extensive search operation was launched centred on the Harryville area, however police confirmed just over one week later (Sunday June 11) that a murder investigation had been launched following the discovery of suspected human remains in Ballymena.



Two men were further arrested, charged in connection with the murder of the young woman, and remanded into custody.


Speaking today, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Millar said:


“The post mortem on human remains found in Ballymena on Sunday 11th June has now concluded.


"The identification process is still ongoing.”
