Families in Greenisland are being welcomed back to a completely revitalised play space after a major refurbishment by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council transformed the local park into a modern, inclusive destination for children and young people.

The newly upgraded Greenisland Play Park has been designed as a vibrant space where children of all ages and abilities can play, explore and socialise safely, offering a significant boost for local families and the wider community.

The redevelopment brings a fresh new look and feel to the popular outdoor space, with a wide range of new play equipment installed alongside improved safety surfacing, enhanced accessibility features and welcoming seating areas for parents, grandparents and carers.

Council officials say the investment reflects an ongoing commitment to creating high-quality outdoor environments that promote physical activity, wellbeing and stronger community connections.

A key focus of the refurbishment has been inclusivity, ensuring the play park can be enjoyed by as many children as possible.

The upgraded design allows children of different ages and abilities to use the space comfortably, helping to create an environment where play and social interaction are open to everyone.

In addition to the new equipment, improved surfacing and access routes have been introduced to make the park safer and easier to navigate, while seating areas offer a more welcoming setting for families spending time together outdoors.
