Four months after Ballymena’s last remaining soft play centre closed, the owners of Honeybees Playtown have confirmed the doors are set to open once again soon!

Fun Factory announced its closure on 27th January, blaming rising costs facing the business and said, “We have not taken this decision lightly and it is solely due to an excessive increase in costs. Most notably 130% increase in rent and rising energy costs.”

At the time, the news came as a disappointment to many families whose young children enjoyed the large soft play facilities.

Honeybees Playtown owners Chris and Joanna, who will be well known to many young families in the town, edtablished their business in recent years in Ballymena town centre “to provide an immersive and interactive experience for young children to play, explore and learn about the world around us”.

The young couple, who themselves are awaiting the arrival of their third ‘little explorer’, are excited to continue their business journey and are looking forward to providing an enhanced, enjoyable and quality play experience for children.

Sharing the news on social media, Chris and Joanna commented:

“The confirmation you have all been waiting for!

”Excited to bring a fresh and interactive soft play experience to Ballymena!

“We know what we have previously disliked about soft play centres and we have listened to your feedback and lots of work is going on behind the scenes to ensure this is a unique and enjoyable experience for not only the children but the adults too!

“Only 6 weeks to go until baby 3 arrives so let the work commence. Follow along for the journey!“
