The much-anticipated Polar Plunge Portrush is set to return next month to East Strand Beach, with registration now open. The event will take place this year on Sunday, 3rd December.

One of a number events hosted by Special Olympics Ireland, Polar Plunge has been held annually for 21 years in collaboration with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Polar Plunge Portrush offers the brave an opportunity to face freezin' conditions, cheered on by encouraging onlookers, as they charge into the Atlantic, all in a fundraising bid to support Special Olympics athletes in communities across the island Ireland.

As part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run initiative, members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland will join in the fun to raise money for the worthy cause.

The Polar Plunge is open to all, whether you are a swimmer, dipper or just fancy a challenge or a fun festive event.

Everyone who donates or fundraises a minimum of £25 will receive a red Polar Plunge T-shirt on the day!
