Young patients at Antrim Area Hospital were treated to a special Formula One experience when the Aston Martin Aramco team made a pitstop at the hospital, bringing smiles, racing excitement and a welcome break from treatment.
Formula One reserve driver Jak Crawford visited the children's ward, meeting young patients and their families, chatting about racing and giving them a close-up look at his racing helmet.
The visit also brought together families supported by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust's community children's team, giving more young people the opportunity to share in the excitement.
Racing fun on and off the ward

Children were invited to take part in a competition to design their own Formula One racing cap, adding a creative challenge to the occasion.
Outside the hospital's main entrance, a replica Formula One car was on display for several hours, giving visitors an opportunity to see a racing machine up close.
For young motorsport enthusiasts receiving treatment, the chance to meet a Formula One driver and experience a little of the racing world was particularly memorable.
A welcome distraction for young patients

Lesley Kennedy, Lead Nurse in Paediatrics, said the visit had brought considerable joy to children and families during what can often be a difficult time.
"It was a fantastic occasion and there were lots of smiles when Jak arrived on the ward. A hospital stay can be an anxious time for children and their parents, so this was a very welcome distraction for many.
"A few of our patients are Formula One enthusiasts so this was a dream come true for them!
"We are very grateful to the team for making the time to visit us and bring the replica car - it was a very special day for everyone."
Part of Aston Martin's wider community tour

The hospital visit formed part of Aston Martin Aramco's UK-wide Make A Mark tour, which has included visits to several hospitals as part of the team's community engagement activities.
While Formula One is usually associated with high-speed racing circuits and international competition, the stop at Antrim Area Hospital offered something different: a chance to bring excitement and encouragement directly to children receiving care.
For the young patients and their families, it was an opportunity to put hospital routines aside for a while and enjoy a memorable encounter with the world of Formula One.
