The Farmers’ Choir has launched its Winter Season with rehearsals now well underway and a host of exciting performances planned in the coming months. Full details of these events are expected to be announced shortly.

The much-loved community choir, which boasts around 60 members, is delighted to welcome two talented young accompanists this year.

Pianists Roseanna Hunter and Grace Dornan have joined the team, bringing what members describe as “a wealth of talent” to the role.

Musical Director Barkley Thompson said this year’s programme will showcase the choir’s trademark mix of variety and warmth.

“The members are preparing a great variety of music, both sacred and secular. We are excited to bring warmth, joy and our usual brand of entertainment to our audiences this winter,” he said.

The choir, known for its strong roots in the farming community and rural life, provides much more than music. For many members, it is a vital social outlet through the darker autumn and winter evenings.

The new season also welcomes fresh voices, with several new members joining across all sections.
