Ballymena welcomes a new flavour this week with the official opening of Ballymena Spice Indian Cuisine, offering authentic dishes, classic curries and a special launch discount!
The new takeaway, located at 10 Bridge Street, officially opens its doors on Monday (September 8), with customers able to enjoy 30% off their order on opening day for pickup collections.
The eatery is the latest venture by local businessman Muhammad Arshad Khan, who has lived in Ballymena since 2018. A chef with more than 25 years of experience, Muhammad first launched Kebab Co. in October 2024, quickly establishing it as a favourite among local diners.
Now expanding his culinary offering, Muhammad is introducing a wide range of traditional Indian dishes for Ballymena food lovers.
“Favourite dishes include butter chicken, chicken chilli garlic and lamb biryani,” he said. “Starters include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and for vegetarians we can make any dish to order.”

A menu full of choice
The Ballymena Spice menu features a diverse selection, from starters such as chicken pakora, onion bhaji and tandoori chicken, to hearty curries including lamb balti, chicken tikka masala and garlic chilli chicken.
Vegetarian diners are well catered for, with options like saag aloo, channa daal, Bombay potatoes and vegetable biryani. Popular sides include poppadoms with chutneys, pilau rice, naan breads and thick-cut chips.
Set meals are also available, including a meal for one (£17.95) with tandoori starter, curry, rice and naan, and a meal for two (£34.95) featuring multiple starters and curries.
To finish, customers can enjoy a traditional rice pudding dessert (£2) made with milk, basmati rice, sugar and cardamom.

Opening hours & delivery
Ballymena Spice is open Monday to Thursday (4pm–11pm), Friday to Saturday (4pm–12:30am) and Sunday (4pm–11pm). Delivery is available within a three-mile radius for £3.50, with an additional £1 per mile beyond that.
The team is also offering 10% off all collection orders, every day, making it an affordable choice for those seeking authentic Indian food in Ballymena.
Customers can order or enquire by calling 028 2525 6726 or 07360 648 005.
“Come say hello and grab a fantastic deal!” Muhammad added.
