Christmas parcel delivery concerns prompt Robin Swann to seek assurances from Evri

Friday 6 November 2026
South Antrim MP Robin Swann has called on parcel delivery company Evri to explain what improvements it has made ahead of the Christmas rush, following complaints from constituents about missing deliveries and difficulties getting help during last year's festive period.
The MP has written directly to Evri Chief Executive Martijn de Lange seeking assurances that measures are in place to prevent a repeat of the problems reported to his constituency office in the run-up to Christmas 2025.
Mr Swann said residents had raised concerns about parcels going missing, inadequate photographic proof of delivery and difficulties contacting a member of the company's customer support team when something went wrong.
Concerns over Christmas deliveries
With the festive shopping period getting underway, Mr Swann said families needed confidence that gifts and other seasonal purchases would reach their destinations safely and on time.
He said:
"As we approach another busy festive period, families across Northern Ireland are relying on parcel deliveries for Christmas gifts and essential seasonal items. The delivery failures we saw last year caused immense frustration and anxiety at what should be a joyful time.
"I have written to the Chief Executive of Evri to ask for clear assurances that the company has learned from last year's shortcomings. Local residents deserve confidence that proper measures are now in place to handle the seasonal demand."
The intervention follows complaints received by the MP's office last Christmas, although no figures have been provided for the number of affected customers or parcels.
MP seeks details of improvements
Mr Swann is asking Evri to explain what specific action it has taken over the past year to address the issues raised by constituents.
His concerns centre on three areas: the reliability of parcel tracking, the accessibility of customer support and the company's ability to deliver packages on time and in good condition during the busy Christmas period.
Mr Swann added:
"I am urging Evri to outline the specific steps taken over the past year to improve parcel tracking, resolve customer support issues and ensure that packages arrive on time and in good condition. I hope the company can provide the reassurances my constituents need as the Christmas period gets underway."
Awaiting reassurance from Evri
The MP's intervention comes as households increasingly prepare for Christmas shopping and the seasonal pressure on parcel delivery services begins to build.
The information supplied does not establish whether Evri has responded to Mr Swann's letter or what additional measures, if any, the company has introduced since last Christmas.
For customers who experienced problems last year, the key question remains whether improvements to delivery reliability, tracking and customer support will make a difference when demand increases in the coming weeks.
