Families are set for a jam-packed afternoon of free entertainment and live music when Carrick Coastal Vibes takes over Castle Green, in front of Carrickfergus Castle, on Monday 25 August.

Organised by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, the event runs from 1pm to 4pm, offering something for everyone with live performances, workshops, children’s activities and an artisan market.

Entertainment for all ages

The programme features a wide range of activities to keep young people and families entertained, including:

  • Messy play

  • Petting farm

  • Pop-up scooter half pipe

  • Breakdance workshop

  • Football skills workshop with Sam Madden

  • Climbing wall

  • Circus skills workshop

  • Soft play

  • Face painting

  • Toddler rave

Adding to the festival atmosphere, live music will be performed by Susi Pagel and Little Feet, providing the soundtrack to the summer celebration.

Local traders and artisan market

Visitors will also be able to browse a vibrant artisan market showcasing unique local goods. Stalls will include homemade bakes, fudge, beaded jewellery, candles, wax melts, crochet items, handbags, accessories, personalised gifts, and even tasty dog treats.

Organisers say there is no need to book – families are encouraged to simply come along, enjoy the music, and soak up the lively atmosphere.

Carrick Coastal Vibes is part of a busy calendar of events in the town. Just over a week later, Carrickfergus will host a rare public appearance from the Irish Guards as they celebrate their 125th anniversary.

The ceremonial parade and musical marching display will take place in Castle Car Park on Thursday 4 September from 4pm to 5pm.
