A Ballymena performer is set to shine under the spotlight next month as one of the standout voices in a major musical theatre showcase on the North Coast.

Patrick Connor, from Buckna, will take centre stage in Ballywillan Drama Group’s upcoming production, The Best of Broadway and the West End 3, running at Portrush Town Hall from April 14–18.

The award-winning group is already deep in rehearsals for the highly anticipated concert, which promises a celebration of some of the most beloved show tunes ever written — alongside fresh hits from newer productions.

A rising local talent

Patrick, who joined Ballywillan Drama Group in 2017, has built a strong reputation on stage with a series of standout performances.

His past roles include Javert in a youth production of Les Miserables and, more recently, Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. Known for his powerful and expressive voice, he has quickly become a firm audience favourite.

In the upcoming concert, Patrick will perform several solo numbers as well as appearing as part of the full ensemble, giving audiences plenty of opportunities to experience his vocal range and stage presence.

A major musical showcase

The production features a cast of around 40 performers, brought together under the musical direction of Ballymoney’s Andrew Robinson.

Audiences can expect a carefully curated mix of iconic classics and contemporary musical theatre hits, making it an appealing night out for both seasoned theatre lovers and newcomers alike.

With its scale, energy and variety, The Best of Broadway and the West End 3 is shaping up to be one of the standout local productions of the spring season.
