Ballymena is set to sparkle once again this November as its much-loved Discount Day returns on Thursday 6 November — bringing unbeatable bargains, community spirit and festive cheer to the town centre.
Organised by Ballymena Business Improvement District (BID), Ballymena Discount Day has become one of the town’s biggest and most anticipated shopping events of the year — and 2025 promises to be no different.
From 9am to 9pm, Ballymena’s two shopping centres and bustling high streets will come alive with exclusive discounts, live entertainment, and great food. It’s a day that brings together shoppers, traders and visitors in a celebration of everything that makes Ballymena one of Northern Ireland’s top shopping destinations.
“Discount Day is one of those events that truly shows what makes Ballymena special,” said Emma McCrea, Ballymena BID Manager.
“Known for its fantastic independent boutiques, renowned local department stores and high street favourites, Ballymena really does have something for everyone.”
Across fashion, jewellery, beauty, homeware, and hospitality, local retailers will be offering a range of special offers and promotions designed to make early Christmas shopping a little easier — and a lot more enjoyable.
Food, Music and Festive Atmosphere
The event isn’t just about retail therapy. Ballymena’s renowned food and hospitality scene will also be in full swing, with local cafés, restaurants and bars ready to welcome shoppers looking to recharge.
“Our local butchers continue to play a big part in what makes Ballymena’s food offering so unique,” Emma added. “They bring quality, tradition and friendly faces that are known right across Northern Ireland.”
Live music and entertainment will take place throughout the day at the Harmony Hub (Bandstand), featuring performances from local musicians and DJs in partnership with The Music Rooms Ballymena.
The Ballymena BID team will also be out and about handing out Discount Day Guides and 500 shopper bags — some containing hidden spot prizes, including the ever-popular Ballymena Gift Cards.
A Celebration of Local Business and Community
Discount Day marks the unofficial start of the festive season in Ballymena, capturing the energy and community spirit that the town is famous for.
“It’s the perfect time to shop local and show support for the businesses that make our town so vibrant,” the Emma said.
Whether you’re updating your wardrobe, searching for gifts, or enjoying a day out with friends, Ballymena Discount Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate local enterprise and community pride.
