Ballymena Discount Day returns with 12 hours of shopping offers and late-night opening!
Saturday 31 October 2026
Shoppers are being encouraged to make the most of a full day of savings in Ballymena as the town’s popular annual Discount Day returns on Thursday 5 November, bringing special offers, giveaways and late-night shopping until 9pm.
From 9am, participating businesses across the town centre will offer one-day promotions, giving shoppers an opportunity to save on everything from Christmas presents and winter fashion to jewellery, homeware and everyday essentials.
The event will bring together independent retailers and familiar high street names, with offers available across Fairhill Shopping Centre, Tower Centre and the surrounding shopping streets.
Twelve hours of shopping and savings
Ballymena Discount Day has become an established date in the town’s retail calendar, encouraging shoppers to explore local businesses while taking advantage of promotions available for one day only.
This year's event will feature a wide range of participating businesses, including fashion boutiques, department stores, jewellers, toy shops, homeware retailers, health and beauty businesses, butchers and cafés.
Jewellery shoppers can look forward to savings of up to 20% at participating businesses, while other retailers will be offering their own discounts and promotions throughout the day.
With Christmas approaching, the event also provides an opportunity to get ahead with gift shopping, discover independent retailers and support businesses in Ballymena town centre.
Free shopper bags for the first 500 visitors
One of Discount Day's popular traditions will also return, with 500 Ballymena Shopper Bags available free to early visitors.
The bags will be distributed at the Bandstand from 9am, with the first 500 shoppers to arrive receiving one of the limited-edition bags, which are made available once a year for the event.
Shoppers hoping to secure one are advised to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
Live music adds to the town centre atmosphere
Alongside the retail promotions, local musicians from Ballymena's The Music Rooms will provide live entertainment throughout the day.
The performances will offer shoppers a chance to enjoy local musical talent while taking a break from browsing the shops.
Ballymena's cafés, restaurants and bars will also provide opportunities to stop for coffee, enjoy lunch or round off the day with something to eat before heading home.
