Ballymena blaze being treated as arson

Police in Ballymena are investigating a fire in the Harryville area, which they believe was deliberately started.
The alarm was raised at approximately 8:30pm on Saturday, 26 April, when officers and Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service crews responded to reports of a blaze at a derelict property on Queen Street.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus and hose reels, swiftly brought the fire under control, with three fire appliances deployed to the scene. The area was cordoned off to traffic while emergency services managed the incident.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said:
“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, the fire is being treated as arson.
“Police would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1423 26/04/25.
