Anglers from across the North West and beyond are being encouraged to mark their calendars following confirmation of dates for the North West Angling Fair 2026, one of Northern Ireland’s premier fishing events.

Derry City and Strabane District Council has announced that the popular fair will take place on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th, 2026, returning to Strabane with a move to the newly refurbished Melvin Sports Complex.

Organisers say the 2026 edition promises to be “bigger and better”, with the modern, state-of-the-art venue providing an enhanced setting for showcasing the very best in angling equipment, services and expert demonstrations.

The North West Angling Fair has built a strong reputation for bringing together fishing enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels, from seasoned anglers to those new to the sport.

Each year, the event offers a blend of fishing tackle displays, casting demonstrations, expert talks and valuable networking opportunities, making it a key date in the angling calendar.

While the full programme for 2026 is still being finalised, organisers have confirmed that expressions of interest are now open for traders, exhibitors and businesses operating within the angling and outdoor industries.

The fair is regarded as a prime opportunity for businesses to engage directly with a highly targeted and enthusiastic audience, with more than 3,000 visitors typically attending the event in Strabane.

Hosted annually by Derry City and Strabane District Council, the North West Angling Fair is delivered with funding and assistance from the Loughs Agency, underlining its role in promoting sustainable angling and supporting the wider fishing trade across the region.

Further details on event schedules, demonstrations and featured guests will be released in the coming months. Updates will be shared via the official website at www.derrystrabane.com/anglingfair, as well as on social media by following @northwestanglingfair on Facebook.
