Wrightbus, the pioneering manufacturer of zero-emission buses, has been officially recognised as one of the happiest workplaces in the transport manufacturing sector.

The accolade follows an independent survey conducted by digital workplace platform WorkL, where more than three-quarters of Wrightbus employees reported being happy in their roles.

The survey results reflect the strong workplace culture at the Ballymena-based company, which was recently named the fastest-growing bus manufacturer in Europe.

A remarkable 89% of staff said they feel proud to work at Wrightbus, while 90% expressed that they feel they are doing something worthwhile. The company also scored highly in areas such as working hours, employee empowerment, and trust in decision-making.

Wrightbus CEO, Jean-Marc Gales, welcomed the recognition, saying:

“It’s great to be given an award for being one of the happiest places to work. As CEO, I’m incredibly proud of the fantastic growth we’ve achieved over the past few years at Wrightbus, and I’m keenly aware that none of it would be possible without the skilled workforce we have here in Ballymena and beyond.

“Our staff are incredibly invested in our mission to help decarbonise the public transport sector, and it’s great to hear that so many of them are not only proud to work at Wrightbus, but also feel they’re doing something worthwhile.

“We’re continually looking for ways to improve our workplace and surveys such as this one act as a great indicator to highlight what we’re doing well and where we can build on to make improvements.”

This recognition comes at a time of major expansion for Wrightbus. The company recently launched a significant recruitment drive, aiming to hire hundreds of new employees to meet the growing demand for its zero-emission single and double-deck buses.

Founded in Northern Ireland, Wrightbus has become a leader in clean public transport solutions, supplying hydrogen and battery-electric buses to cities across the UK and abroad.

The award from WorkL places Wrightbus among the top-tier employers in the UK manufacturing and transport sectors, reinforcing its reputation not only for innovation but also for its commitment to employee wellbeing.
