Women’s Aid ABCLN has officially opened a vibrant new pop-up shop in the heart of Antrim, offering shoppers a chance to find high-quality preloved treasures while supporting vital local services for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

The new store, based in Grace House on Fountain Street, features an impressive selection of new and nearly new women’s clothing and accessories, as well as books and unique one-off items.

Its eye-catching window displays and brand-new fixtures have already sparked interest from passers-by and the wider community.

“We are thrilled to be opening this new shop in the heart of Antrim,” said Women’s Aid ABCLN CEO, Gillian Creevy.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for the community to support our work with women and children, shop sustainably, purchase some beautiful brands and help transform lives.”

Gillian added that the reaction from the public has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The enthusiasm we have received has been incredible, and we look forward to welcoming everyone through our doors.”

She emphasised that “every purchase made will contribute directly to sustaining Women’s Aid’s specialist services and support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse here in Antrim.”

While launching as a pop-up initially, Women’s Aid ABCLN hopes the store will become a permanent fixture in the coming weeks.

As well as providing a unique and sustainable retail experience, the shop will serve as a safe and welcoming space where women can access information, support, and connection.

Speaking at the launch, Women’s Aid Ambassador and former Councillor Noreen McClelland shared her excitement at the opening.

“I am delighted to be part of this exciting new shopping experience for women in Antrim.

“Having been involved with the organisation for many years, I know at first hand the incredible work Women’s Aid does in our local community and am looking forward to coming on board as a new retail volunteer.”

Volunteers Needed to Support Lifesaving Work

Women’s Aid ABCLN is now encouraging local people to volunteer and support the shop’s ongoing success.

Noreen added:

“If you would like to help out in the shop and volunteer for a few hours each week we would love to hear from you. Volunteering is a deeply rewarding way to give back and help Women’s Aid provide life-changing support for women and children.”
