Emergency Services were tasked this afternoon (Tuesday 29 March) to help a woman who is understood to have fallen into the foundations of a construction site outside Ballymena.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene of the incident shortly after 1pm in the Glenravel Road area of Martinstown.
Four Fire Appliances, including two from Ballymena, one from Cushendall, and a Specialist Rescue Team Appliance assisted in the rescue.
A spokesperson for NIFRS commented:
“Firefighters were called to assist Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) with a female casualty who had fallen down a 6-8ft drop.
“Firefighters used a specialist rescue stretcher to rescue the casualty, who was then taken into the care of NIAS.”
The casualty was transported by Ambulance to the Causeway Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
