A woman in her 30s has died following a late-night road traffic collision in Enniskillen, prompting a police appeal for witnesses.
The collision, involving two vehicles, occurred on the Marble Arch Road area on Tuesday evening, 17 March.
Emergency response and tragic outcome
Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said police received a report at approximately 9.55pm of a crash involving a Toyota Yaris and a Volkswagen Amarok.
Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
Despite emergency efforts, the driver of the Toyota Yaris was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road closure and ongoing investigation
The Marble Arch Road was closed for a period between New Line Road and Bog Road as emergency services dealt with the incident. The road has since reopened.
Police have confirmed that enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
Appeal for witnesses and footage
Detective Inspector Stewart has urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant digital footage, to come forward.
He said:
“Our enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have digital footage which could assist with our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1735 of 17/03/26.”
The latest fatal collision marks another tragic loss on Northern Ireland’s roads, with police continuing efforts to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
