Woman arrested after man stabbed in Ballymena


A 26 year old man has been taken to hospital after he sustained a number of stab wounds at a residential property in Ballymena.


Police along with colleagues in the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) , and Air Ambulance HEMS rushed to an address at Lanntara, in the Ballee estate shortly after 2pm this afternoon.



A police spokesperson said:


"At this stage his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.


"A 25 year old woman was subsequently arrested in the Beachlands area of Carnlough a short time later and is currently assisting police with enquiries."



A spokesperson for NIAS commented:


"The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:12 on Wednesday 23 November following reports of an incident in the Lanntara area of Ballymena.

"NIAS despatched an emergency crew to the incident and also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance, with HEMS crew on board, to attend.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken, by ambulance, to Antrim Area Hospital."
